Recently we had a customer ask us to determine moisture levels in the wetted surface areas of the hull. He had hauled the vessel and was doing a bottom job. The bottom was stripped of all paint and barrier applications. We sounded the hull and then checked all areas with two types of moisture meters. The meters did indicate some moisture in the chime, transom and keel areas. Next we shot the areas with infrared to backup our findings. These areas were further stripped and prepared for painting. This allowed the painter to repair and paint the vessel with confidence. Some infrared shots attached for reference. Before you paint, let us check the hull and make sure all areas are ready for bottom paint.
